ducati 748 | show original size
The production of the Ducati 748 was started in 1994 and continued until 2002. During its time, it was a really famous sport bike. Bike enthusiasts say that it was launched as a smaller version of 916 and after its production discontinued, it was replaced by 749 in 2003. The engine that was installed in the 748 was a 748 cc (45.6 cu in) desmodromic liquid cooled L-twin.
The engine and its variants had a capacity to produce at least 95 horsepower. Very few people know this but the Ducati 748 L is also known as Neiman Marcus edition, is a limited edition model produced by Ducati Motors. It is astonishing to note that only a hundred of them were made in 1998 and sold executively to special personnel only. The top of the range model was now the 748R and had a larger, two-part airbox and thus the frame was also different in order to accommodate this.
