Toyota Avalon is a flagship sedan of the Toyota Motor Corporation for the US and a full-size vehicle manufactured in the country. It is also the flagship model of the countries such as Canada, Middle East and Puerto Rico. This model was also manufactured in Down Under during 2000 to 2005. The model was later replaced by Toyota Aurion in 2006. First generation Avalon was assembled at Gerogetow, Kentucky in 1994 and the second generation was debuted in Japan and US in 1999. In 1992 the Toyota Cressida was discontinued and Toyota marketed the Avalon to fill the gap. The Cressida was a vehicle with a straight-6 engine and rear-wheel driven upper-level midsize where as the Avalon had a V6 for power. Avalon shares its platform with the Lexus ES and Toyota Camry V6 in recent times, the vehicle is distinguished by the extra leg room it offers. Toyota Avalon can be bought in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Middle East and South Korea as on 2013.
