citroen c5 tourer | show original size
This large family car was manufactured by Citroen in 2001 and it was launched to replace the Citroen Xantia. So far, we have seen only two generations of the Citroen C5 and it is the second one at present. The first generation lasted from 2001 to 2008 and it was available as a five-door hatchback or five door wagon styles. The major development that C5 went through was in hydropneumatic suspension, now called Hydractive.
The C5 underwent a big facelift in 2004 when it had new front and rear ends; same center section. The second generation was started in 2008 and it uses a 2.7L Ford AJD-V6/PSA DT17 engine along with a 6 speed automatic or manual transmission. The present generation is really popular and it is available in conventional springs as well as the hydropneumatic suspension. The presence of eTouch gives a virtual maintenance and eco-driving service accessible for the drivers.
