This compact car was produced by Daewoo Nubira in 1997 and the production of this car was continued for 5 years. The first model was called as J100 and it was sold for two years until 1999. The purpose to release the Daewoo Nubira was to replace the GM series of Daewoo Nixea and it wasn’t until 2000 when the first generation of the Nubira underwent more than 90 improvements. However the sedan, hatchback and station wagon models were made available later.
The improved model was also sold in some parts as Daewoo Nubira II. There were a lot of good changes in the Daewoo Nubira such as increased passenger space and decreased noise. The interesting thing about the name of the Nubira is that it is the command form of the Korean verb Nubida (누비다), meaning to crisscross. In 2004, the Suzuki Forenza replaced the Nubira in the US.
