ferrari 288 gto

It is one of the best looking cars that can be categorized as a sports car but it is an exotic homologation of the Ferrari 308 GTB produced from 1984 through 1985. The main purpose for the release of the 288 GTO was to make it able so that it would compete in Group B race series but it never happened because of the death of Henri Toivonen, it wasn’t possible to produce more than 200 cars.

The name of the car comes from the fact that it had a 2.8 L V8 engine and it also had intercoolers present in it. The car came with a 3.0 liter V8 engine later on. A notable thing about the 288 GTO series is that the Ferrari also built it with more aggressive and aerodynamic body and it had a curb weight of 1,160 kg (2,560 lb). Ferrari F40 is the successor of this series.
