This mid-sized family car by Fiat was first introduced in1966 and was marketed until 1974 when it was replaced by Fiat 131. It was made available in two body styles; 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon and that is why it was best suited to families. At one stage the production was said to be at nearly 20 million units which made it the fourth biggest selling single automobile platform of all times. It also has the honor to have won the 1967 European Car of the Year award. Fiat 124 had a very spacious interior, advanced coil spring rear suspension and disc brake feature. It had a 1,438Â cc OHV engine with 65 hp. Later on, sports version of Fiat 124 were also made available.
