Fiat Regata was launched in 1983 and it is a saloon version of Fiat Ritmo small family car. The distinctive feature of Regata is that it had a choice of three gasoline and two diesel engines. The name - ?Regata -  comes from the fact that it was called by this name in Swedish markets and this name continued to get fame in the Latin American markets too. 1,301 cc inline-four rated at 68 PS (50 kW; 67 hp) engine was installed in Regata. An economy version was also introduced in 1984 and it had a stop start button installed in it. Other significant features included detailed modifications to aerodynamics, enhanced engine, engine shut off system and electronic ignition. It was a 4-door saloon and used as a small family car.
