Ford EcoSport is a small Sport Utility Vehicle originally manufactured at the Ford’s Brazil plant from 2003. Later the second generation model started in 2012 and was to be produced at the new factory to be established in Chennai India. It is classified as a Mini SUV and is manufactured in 5-door wagon body style. The layout of the vehicle is a front engine and it is either available in FWD or 4-wheel-drive. The first generation was built on the Ford B3 platform and was related to the Ford Fiesta, Ford Fusion and Mazda 2. Powertrain used for the EcoSport ranged from 1.0 l I4 to 2.0L I4 petrol engine and 1.4 L I4 diesel engine. A 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission was optionally available with the car. EcoSport had a wheelbase of 98 inches, length of 166.5 inches, width of 78 inches and height of 66.1 inches. In 2007 the vehicle went through major renovation.
