Lexus LS is the flagship model of the Toyota luxury division and a full-size luxury sedan. The four generations of this luxury line have been equipped with a rear - wheel drive and V8 engines. But since 2006 we have seen AWD, long-wheel base and hybrid variants from LS. In 1989 the original Lexus LS 400 was introduced as the debut premium marque. In November 1994 the second generation redesigns of the LS 400, in January 2000 the LS 430 and subsequently the 2006 LS 460/LS460 L series were released. In Japan a domestic version of the LS 400 ad LS 430, named as Toyota Celsior was marketed until the introduction of Lexus marque in 2006. The fourth generation of LS 460 was unveiled with 8-speed auto transmission along with an automatic parking in 2006 as the 2007 model year. In 2007 the LS 600h/LS 600h L sedans were introduced the hybrid powertrains with V8. The Lexus LS for each of its generation has been manufactured at the same plant in Japan.
