Daewoo will be officially known as Chevrolet in Korea
It is official now! Daewoo name will be replaced by Chevrolet in Korea. The South Korean automobile giant used to be a more than what LG and Samsung were at that time and was just behind Hyundai, but times have changed now, and what you see or hear is only its name.
Photo 1: DAEWOOWay back in the 1999 Daewoo group was disbanded by the South Korean government and at that time GM was the owner of more than half of Daewoo Motors. Starting from the time General Motors developed and manufactured a range of automobiles using Daewoo resources its principal brand has become Chevrolet globally. Daewoo’s market had been replaced by Chevrolet in many areas and it has become the global brand name of GM. The influence has been underlined by the fact that every 7.4 seconds saw a Chevy being sold in some part of the world in the last year.
There are very few exceptions where the Daewoo name still exists and that include South Korea itself. Whatever little is known in Korea is being replaced now by GM by the tactical phase out of the brand from the country. The development was on the anvil and it will encompass both the company and the automobiles that are produced by it. By the end of the quarter the name GM Daewoo Auto & Technology will officially change to GM Korea as per news source.
