Datsun Go, First Venture of Nissan to be Globally Launched
Datsun may not be a brand familiar to and with Indian market, but an alliance with Nissan has it reappearing in the global market with its launch of Datsun Go. Having phased out of the automobile scene in 1981, this will be a re-launching of the manufacturer of small, budget cars. The model will prove a worthy alternative to competitions such as Maruti and Hyundai. A beginning price as low as 3.12 lakh and the top variety available in mere 3.69 lakhs, will prove to be an attractive range for Indian customers from all walks of life.
Photo 1: DATSUNA hatchback whose size can be compared with its parent company’s model Nissan Micra, it is bigger in size and equal in price with Hyundai Eon. This can prove beneficial to its sale and work as an additional feature to its already alluring style and merchandising. A hexagonal grille, swept back headlamps and neat styling are a few of the attractions offered up front. The raked tail and muscular haunch which flows into its tail lights makes its appearance easily the most different from other hatchbacks in the market. A minor drawback can be found in its small tires which do not quite fill the large wheel arches, but nothing as significant which its low priced range cannot make up for.
It offers an easy 5 seat accommodation and an additional stretched front passenger seat, which the designers claim is not to solve seating purpose but for those additional women handbags. A full approval from all ladies can be heard at this feature. Provision of good hand and leg movement space the back seat easily seats three full grown adults. Adding to its practicality is a 265 litre space in the boot which can store suitcases flat instead of vertical placement. The base D model comes with a lack of modern essentials such as music system or an air conditioning but overall Datsun Go is a good bargain at the offered prices.
