Environmental Health- the consideration on which the new Kia is modeled

The demand of the year and the nation alike is to conserve energy and natural resources while successfully utilizing man made sources. With this motto in mind Kia has come up with its Soul EV, launched at the Chicago Motor Show. A one of its kind, Soul EV promises slender body, sleek look and most importantly a battery run engine.

The electric car is a first production of the kind by the company and to be launched globally. It is supposed to hit the market before 2015. Also maintained with the model is the seven year warranty period, which Kia promises with all its models in a similar range. The speed gives competition to any diesel or petrol driven car, with an estimated 0-62mph performance in 12 seconds; and a range of about 124 miles is to be expected.

The 27kWh lithium-ion polymer batteries of the car are located under the cabin, whereas the front wheels are driven by an 81kWh electric motor. The high point is the relative time in which the battery can be completely charged, this being five hours. Also Kia claims that with a special charger 80% capacity can be reached within 25 minutes of the plug-in.

An environmental message encrypted in every drive, an emission free end and thus the model lacks a tail pipe. The target places for sale prominently includes California, Oregon, plus few Eastern States and New York, Maryland, New Jersey etcetera -which are already acquainted with electric cars as being part of the market.

The step by Kia is an effort to close the gaps of efficiency and environmental conservation. To make the market realize, the effect will be noticed much more and heartily accepted owing to the brand name, that energy conservation is the next step and a path to be treaded upon consciously.
