Jawa 350 with Retro styling is back with a bang

The retro - styling has caught up also with Jawa, the Czech manufactured bike and its back with a bang. Yes, we are talking about the 350 Retro that joins the yesteryear 350 Classic. The motorcycle manufacturers from Czech still manage to produce bikes that are within the utilitarian budget, which are 2-stroked and old-fashioned. The Jawa bikes were imported into the UK for F2 exclusively for a long time, but the new 350cc is manufactured for sport, military (limited edition) and with sidecar combination.

The styling of the bike is very much similar to the Classic of the 70s, but it has been integrated with an air-cooled twin engine and chain drive enclosure. Other retro features include electric start, chromed tank, mudguards and latest disc brakes. Two stroke twin engine, twin shockers and 4-gears are the other retro additions to the classic model. The Jawa bike has been around as long as the Enfield’s Bullet and is available for consumer in the UK now as per the source website. 

The bike weights about 149kg and has just the 23bhp power to haul it. This shows that the new Jawa is not built for power but torque. Even at 40mph the bike is not doing much as for the speed. You can start with the electric start or go for the old style kick-start. The gear lever acts as a gear shifter as well as a kick-start.

According to the news site the price for the new Retro Jawa is £3,295 which would make most people thinking about a Chinese 250. However the added feature of chain enclosure added safety and zero maintenance for the chain. Being lightweight also enables the user to save on the gas. The bike may fail to live up to long distance drives and tracks. But one cannot ask for too much at the price you are paying for a Jawa Retro 350.
