John Deere opens new manufacturing units in Brazil

John Deere Construction and Forest Div have completed the construction of two world class facilities for producing construction machinery at Indaitauba, Sao Paulo, Brazil and the pioneer in agricultural equipment will manufacture wheel loaders and backhoe loaders, the pioneer in the industry, at one plant and the excavators in another location by partnering Hitachi Construction Machinery.

John Deere agricultural machinery has been in use for 60 years in Brazil and the new investment is a significant landmark in the company’s efforts to expand the construction business market. The exclusive plant of John Deere will be producing the 310K Backhoe Loader.

According to Michael Mack, President of John Deere Construction & Forestry, Brazil is among the fastest evolving construction equipment market and it has provided John Deere with a fine opportunity to manufacture its construction equipment. Brazil also offers great scope for investing in infrastructure and further affirms the company’s resolve in such enterprise.

 John Deere along with Hitachi reportedly has pumped in $180 ml to construct the two manufacturing units to meet the demand of the well established dealer network of John Deere in Brazil which is almost 90 % of the market. The new project was started in December 2011 and it took the company more than 2 years to complete.

According to Roberto Marques, the construction division manager, the difference with the Brazilian market for John Deere is their commitment to pay attention to the customer feedback actively and utilize them in the development of products. The company makes every effort to maintain close relationship with the consumers with the help of the dealer network which is highly qualified and is always ready to provide them with prompt and fast service.
