Kawasaki Ninja RR Mono with single cylinder is introduced in Indonesia
Recently Kawasaki displayed the new Ninja RR Mono designed especially for the Asian countries customer base including Indonesia and the bike is offered with single-cylinder engine as per news sources. The Japanese automaker now has a single cylinder bike Ninja model entrant though less powerful packs a lot of value for customer’s money and weight a good 46 pounds lesser than earlier Ninjas.
Photo 1: KAWASAKIThe bike however does not share the layout of the present generation bikes like the Ninja 250 and 300 but looks more like a standard Ninja. The single headlight integrated with the RR Mono resembles very much like the Ninja 250. A liquid cooled 249cc single cylinder fuel-injection engine powers the bike. With the max out of 27.6HP at 9700rpm the motor achieves a top torque of 16.7 ft-lb at 8200 rpm. In comparison the Ninja 250 possess 31.5HP maximum power at 11000rpm and average lower torque peak at 15.5ft-lb at 10000rpm.
On the weightier side the Ninja 250 was higher with 379.2 pounds where as the Mono weights on the lower side with just 332.9 pounds. This all works out to a similar weight and power ratio between these two bikes. The Ninja Mono RR is fitted with a brand new Steel trellis frame which according to Kawasaki provides agility very much like the Ninja RR powered by 150cc 2-stroke engine.

Brakes for Mono is drawn from two piston calipers fitted with 263mm disc at the front and 193mm disc at the rear. An owner can optionally install the ABS system and this would add 2 pounds to the overall weight.
The Ninja Mono RR making to the Indian market is remaining to be seen considering the huge demand for two-wheelers in the country.
