Lack of Demand Halted release of Renault Electric Twingo
Europe’s third largest automobile manufacturers Renault SA had decided to slow down the release of its electric-vehicle and this shows that there is a substantial lack of demand for the zero emission car from the consumers. The revamped and battery powered Twingo city car shown off at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year has been put on hold, according to Jerome Stoll, the Chief Performance Officer, in the interview held at Cannes, France yesterday. He failed to give the date of the model’s sale.

He further added that people have not realized yet that they actually require an electric vehicle which they can use in their daily routine. People must realize that they should now shift to electric cars.
Battery powered vehicle for mass-market has failed to fulfill the industry goals because customer finds them hugely lacking in range and their price range compared to diesel and petrol version vehicles are steeper. The luxury segment has been an exception of the i3 electric city car being increased production by Bayerische Motoren Werke AG keeping in demand with the orders this year. The maker of the Model S sedan, Tesla Motors said that month’s sales have been limited due to the short supply of batteries. A Frankfurt based analyst Sacha Gommel said that people who go for the electric cars, mostly belong to the premium class.
