Massey Ferguson unveils 1700 Series Compact Tractors
Massey Ferguson is introducing compact 1700 series tractors at the 2013 Farm Progress Show at Decatur, Ill. Utilizing the success of the world wide AGCO brand’s 1600 series the new series delivers comfort, sophistication, versatile performance and durable package which are usually offered with full size tractor models. These farm series will be featuring a Tier-4 complaint clean burning diesel engine for reliability and performance excellence.
Photo 1:The product manager for Massey Fergusson David Bercik said that operators are now looking for more comfort, efficiency and power in their tractors irrespective of the type of work they are doing and the new series of 1700s are designed to do exactly the same.
The series will be comprised of 6 tractor models equipped with 35 to 60hp engines with 4-wheel drive with the choice of either open platform or cab. They are also offered with two transmission options and mid or rear PTOs to enable the operators to find the most suitable for their respective jobs. A person visiting the Farm Progress Show can witness all these at the AGCO enclave.
Photo 2: Massey Ferguson unveils 1700 Series Compact TractorsNow the operators will be given a higher level of reactive power and efficiency with the new line of Mitsubishi engines diesel for powering the series and the compact vehicles will now be turbo-charged. Advanced intercooling will be experienced by the engines and a new HPCR (high pressure common rail) system has been added for absolute fuel burns and smoother power delivery.
The new series Models will be uniformly equipped with an independent rear PTO of 540rpm with electro hydraulic capability and multi-disc clutch wet for delivering smooth engagements and durability. The newly inducted engines are also in compliance with the Tier 4 emission needs with the new DPF diesel particulate filter which is designed to remove particulate matter and harmful soot from the vent.
