New 3-series fighter Jaguar XE to hit US in 2016

Jaguar may not be showing off many in this year’s Geneva Auto Show as it has already revealed its big vehicles F-type Roadster and Coupe. However, this is not going to stop them from releasing a tease with regard to its next big car. Though the information we have gathered is not much and hazy one thing is clear and that it is a 3 series-fighter the company is going to come up with next and it will be bearing the initials XE in its nameplate.

This will be the first vehicle to be built with the all-new aluminum structure of the Jaguar which was previewed earlier in C-X17 Concept Sports Utility Vehicle. It has been more than a decade that Jaguar is using aluminum body to build its vehicles and this is likely to reduce the weight of Jaguar’s future releases.

The new Jaguar XE is going to form the platform for Jaguar vehicles once it is released to the showrooms in 2015. In the US the XE will be available to customers only in 2016. The jaguar has high expectations with the new vehicle and XE is likely to overtake all other vehicles from Jaguar in terms of sales in the first year itself.

You can expect this mainstream vehicle to come with several engine options and outputs of power based on a 4-cylinder and a possible M3 fighter integrated with a supercharged V6 based on the F-Type. The latest information on this front is that the 2016XE will get its engine from the F-Type, a V6 and this was quoted on the international webpage of Jaguar.

Information regarding the outputs was not revealed at the website but one can expect it to be on par with what has been seen in the F-type, power output of 340hp for the base model and 380hp for the S Version.
