Peugeot Citroen, which the second largest carmaker of Europe now is planning to increase the production their hatchback model 308 with an overwhelming 60,000 orders received for this new model. The new hiring of employees is deemed to be a turning point in the history of Peugeot, which had to close down a factor in Aulnay at Paris suburbs and also had been working towards cutting down almost 11,200 domestic jobs in the country. Now, as the new Peugeot 308 had won this title by beating six vehicles in its class, which include electric cars also from Bayerische Motoren Werke AG as well as Tesla Motors, the fortune of Peugeot is back on land and things are really changing for them now.
Erich Hauser, an analyst at the International Strategy & Investment Group, said that “This is the first time ever I see that Peugeot is showing the market that they are adding more employment, rather than the talk of reducing employment which they always did, he also commented like “this further shows that Peugeot is starting to earn some better traction on their new models.”
