Piaggio S unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014

The Piaggio S from the Italian scooter manufacturers is now released at the Auto Expo 2014 and ready to go on sale. The big difference you find in the new two wheeler scooter is that it looks even older than the retro Vespa, a cousin of the old school.

The new Vespa S has been built on the same platform as the Vespa LX125 which is insistently called as just ‘Vespa’ in India. To be precise the scooter is modeled on the VX and is given the same disc brakes in the front rear suspension and the same chassis. The scooter also has identical engine and utilize the same 125cc carbureted single engine like other Vespa models plying Indian roads. In a month the S is to start sale in the market and comfortable seating has been designed for the scooter.  There is additional cubby space spared in the front and the price of the scooter is also expected to go up at the rate of 3 to 4 thousand rupees.

According to Vespa the model is going to be followed by the 946 which is likely to be the first CBU scooter for India. Latest reports say that the Vespa S has been released in the subcontinent and the ex-showroom price for the scooter has been finalized at Rs. 75, 000. The price quoted in the news however has not been confirmed by the manufacturer officially. The new scooter is also going to achieve the distinction of being the costlier scooter sold in India and set precedence for others to follow.

Earlier report coinciding with the unveiling at the Auto Expo 2014 put the price at Rs.82, 868. The automobile crazy Indian market is not lacking behind in response to the new Piaggio S according to latest reports filtering in from the India.
