QX30 small crossover of Infiniti confirmed for production
The premium compacts are the most sought players in the luxury arena nowadays. Audi has the A1 and A3 Mercedes has this A and B Class, CLA and GLA, BMW has the 1 and 2 series and the Lexus has the CT 200h. Now Infiniti is going to join the band of luxury segment players with a compact crossover.
Photo 1: INFINITILuxury brand of Nissan has been developing a premium compact for quite a while the Q30 was put on show at the Frankfurt Motor Show the previous year, and a pact with Daimler was signed to assist in the development and production. It is understood now that the concept car and a crossover version has been okayed for production.
Andy Palmer of Nissan who is the COO and Chairman of Infiniti and a top rung executive working under Carlos Ghosn, CEO broke the news and he tweeted that Johan de Nysschen said that Infiniti will be manufacturing the Premium Compact Q30 and the QZ30 crossover next year in the UK. The announcement by Palmer confirms the fact that the Q30 hatchback and the QX30 crossover are to be manufactured at the Sunderland, UK plant of Nissan Motor Manufacturing. The assembly plant is one of the biggest in the whole of Europe and is also the home of the Juke and Qashqai crossovers.
