Scania Commercial Vehicles’ foray at Bangalore, India
Scania has fostered growth at higher levels, and this newer facility is spread over sprawling 35 acres. Currently, commercial vehicles are going to be produced for the Indian market. One of the largest producers of vehicles for heavy transport, the Company remains one of the topmost ones after setting foot in the India in 2007, along with its partner Larsen & Tubro (L&T). The independent venture of the Swedish Company began in 2011. Going by the name of Scania Commercial Vehicles India (SCVI), the Company has invested heavily to provide a boost to make its presence felt throughout the Country with ongoing sales in the on-road segment.

Bhoomi pujan was performed in the presence of Mr. Suresh Ekambaram (Director of after sales), Mr. Stefan Wiklund (Director of finance), and Mr. Siva Kumar Viswam – director of sales. The new site for manufacturing and assembly unit would be Complete Knocked Down unit. (CKD). The chassis and complete body building of the commercial vehicles has also been planned in this way. The company plans to employ more than 800 employees for the unit.

Apart from other vehicles, trucks and intercity buses are also going to be produced within the next five years. With the establishment of new assembly unit in Bangalore, the company plans to go forth with the idea of moving steadily in the direction of success while winning accolades from common people.
