The 250cc Kawasaki Ninja RR Mono AKA 250SL Getting Introduced in Indonesia

Kawasaki recently announced that they are introduced latest Kawasaki Ninja RR Mono, it is developed specifically for the Asian markets, is getting introduced in Indonesia. It comes with single cylinder engine, which they have got higher hopes to get good acceptance in the Asian markets. With this, Kawasaki is getting single cylinder basic level model of Ninja, which will be less powerful, but at the same time can offer more value for money and is about 46 pounds lighter than the other versions.

Unlike being assumed by many, the new model RR Mono is not sharing its framework with the general Ninja 250 or 300 and also the Mono’s styling got more resemblance to that of the ZX-6R. Also the new RR Mono has got a single headlight design. Coming on to the specs, what is powering the new model is a liquid-cooled, single cylinder, fuel-injected, 249cc engine which has got a 72.0mm bore and 61.2 mm stroke.

The motor offers maximum power output of 27.6 HP at 9700 RPM and the peak torque is 16.7 lb ft at 8200 RPM. The twin-cylinder Ninja 250 was having a maximum power of 31.5 HP at 11000 RPM and a mildly low peak torque of 15.5 lb ft at 10000 RPM. Comparing the weights, Ninja 250 weight is about 379.2 pounds, however the RR Mono is having only 332.9 pounds.

Also the new Ninja Mono RR features an all-new steel trellis frame that Kawasaki claims to “offering a slim nimbleness which is similar to the 150 cc two-stroke Ninja RR”. The suspension of Mono RR are 37mm telescopic fork on the front and a five-setting adjustable monoshock with Uni-Trak linkage mechanism at the rear. Breaking is offered by a two-piston calipers which are equipped with 263mm front disc as well as 193mm rear disc. There is also optional ABS which adds an extra 2 pounds of weight to the Mono.
