The All-New Derbi GP-1 250 Scooter is there on Road

On just listening to the specs of the new Derbi GP1 250, what you may think of is a performance motorcycle with racing features. However, it is rather a scooter, which is in the twist-and-go category. Being amazingly features rich and powerful performance, GP1 250 is there to lead the roads now. The model has got radial brakes, dual shock as well as twin-spar aluminum chassis. The previous version featured only single shock. It is now the coolest looking 250-cc scooter in its class.

The vehicle has got a 244 cc single cylinder four-stroke motor, that can offer 22bhp and you cannot expect too much of an out-performance with it. It is however more than powerful when compared to the rest of the bikes and the same technology had been shared among many of the Piaggio group vehicles like the models of Vespas and Aprilia. It will still do about 80mph flat out.

The riding and handling comfort is superb for the Derbi GP1 250 and even for the female riders, the 250 cc is not giving much trouble. As mentioned, the previous versions of the same model had only single shock on the rear, which was a bit compromising as far as jumping big bumps or gutters were concerned. GP-1 is more of a functional scooter, which can take you smoothly through the rough city traffic. The models has got twin radial calipers on the front as well as so powerful discs.

As far as storage is concerned, there is quite a bit of storage there offering more room for your helmet under the seat. There is also a pretty big glovebox too, which is lockable. A 12V charging port also will allow you to charge your Smartphone of the iPod. There is a fuel gauge on the dash and an add-on mileage reader, which can automatically start up once the fuel quantity reaches to the reserve level.
