Vespa S to cost 75,500 INR making it the costliest scooter in India

Piaggio of Italy has released its new Vespa S in the subcontinent and it is going to sold at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 75,000. However, this has been confirmed officially by the manufacturer so far. With this the premium model Vespa stands as the costliest scooter ever to be sold in India and this pricey scooter was showcased in the Auto Expo 2014 that came to an end recently.

Reservations have been taking place in the past two weeks and according to dealerships the delivery of the new scooter will take place in the near future. Apart from the Vespa S, the Italian scooter manufacturer has two other models, the Vespa and the Vespa VX in the market currently. The new Vespa S has borrowed the all familiar Powertrain from the other two models and the 125cc 3V engine is capable of producing 10.06PS power and 10.6Nm torque.

A CVT transmission is mated to the engine. According to the report released by the company the scooter would having a fuel economy of 60kmpl. The 2-wheeler is given a body makeup made of steel and has a telescopic suspension in the front and dual shockers at the back. The brakes are the same as the VX’s front and a drum at the rear.

Earlier it was quoted in the news reports that the S will be priced at Rs.82, 868 and the official launch will be taking place in March 4. When the scooter was showcased in the Auto Expo 2014 held in Delhi the company announced that the official launch of the Vespa S would be March, 4, 2014. The two-wheeler models were already dispatched to the dealerships in India and according to one dealer the price of the scooter is going to be Rs.82, 868. The VX was sold Rs.4000 lesser making it Rs.78, 390.
