PARIS, FRANCE - OCTOBER 02: Paris Motor Show on October 02, 2008, showing Toyota Avensis, rear view by Maksim Toome | show original size
Toyota Avensis is built in the UK by the Japanese auto giant Toyota and it is a big family car produced since 1997. This is the direct descendant of Carina E and is available in various body types including a 5-door liftback, estate and 4-door saloon. This vehicle is only restricted to the Toyota Netz dealerships and is ranked as the largest offered sedan. A bigger MPV built in a separate platform in Japan is named as Toyota Avensis Verso. Its Toyota T platform is shared with Toyota Allion and Toyota Premio and the car is not sold in North America, but the Scion tC coupe is related with Allion. The Toyota Avensis has hugely progressed in terms of power, technology and size in recent times to challenge the likes of Ford Mondeo, Mazda6, Opel/Vauxhall, Peugot 508, Skoda Superb, Citroën C5 and Volkswagen Passat. The car has been in production since its induction in 1997.
