The popular but short lived model Sera was actively supplied to the Japanese market by Toyota during the early nineties. Otherwise an average sedan, the model received widespread popularity and acclaim for the futuristic butterfly doo design. The complete design of this car was experimental. With a single curved glass to form the posterior canopy and largely glass based side doors, the car gave a virtually open feel and look to the four passengers. The moderate 110 bhp supporting engine did not receive a positive response from the customer base who expected a more powerful specification set from such a sporty looking automobile. Sera has been exported to many countries since inception and used for mild usage purposes with the main aim of flaunting style and design. Due to the completely mirror drawn head, AC is provided against heating from sunrays. The surround sound system was also applauded by enthusiasts.
