The Yamaha FJ was manufactured from 1986 to 1996 and it was offered in two touring motorcycle models. It was manufactured by Yamaha Motor Company and its predecessor was FJ1100 and it was succeeded by FRJ1300. The bike was integrated with 1,188cc in-line 4-cylinder air/oil cooled engine which was fused to a 5-speed transmission. The bike had a wheelbase of 58.9-inches and its dimensions read like, 8-inches length, 30.5-inches width. It was weighting 266kg wet and it stored a fuel quantity of 6.3 US gallon. The FJ1100 was the model for years 1984 and 1985 and it combined street-friendly riding capabilities with sporty qualities which offer fine maneuverability. It also added comfort for long rides with upright seating and more emphasis was heaped on balance and use-fullness. The engine in the bike was narrower compared to other bikes and it was attained by designing the alternator behind cylinders in place of the normal placement near the crankshaft.
